Scottish Rite Take Flight,  New Braunfels Dyslexia Tutor , What is Dyslexia?

Our Client Satisfaction

For the past 1 1/2 years Deborah has worked with my 13-year-old twin boys who have both been diagnosed with dyslexia. After seeing the boys' struggles only get worse the older they became we decided we needed something beyond what the school had to offer. I began researching different programs that have been deemed helpful with students with dyslexia. The basket that my husband and I decided to put all our eggs in was the program Deborah had to offer. You could not have told me the results we were about to experience. When starting this program we were simply looking to improve the boys' reading skills. In the short span of 18 months not only has she surpassed what we were hoping for with reading but the skills she has taught them have spilled over into other subjects. Deborah has 100% helped my boys academically but more importantly she has given them lifelong skills that have ultimately given them the confidence to be successful going forward. There aren’t words to express how appreciative we are for the positive impact Deborah has had on the boys, we will be forever thankful.

We started tutoring with Ms Deborah right after my son's dyslexia diagnosis. He was very frustrated with reading and low confidence in school. After 1.5 years with her Cowen is a different student. She is an advocate for him and his confidence soars so much that he has become an advocate for other students in school struggling with reading and dyslexia. We cannot thank Deborah enough for turning his journey into something so positive!

I have worked with Deborah as a coworker and a client. I’ve personally seen her in the classroom and the results of her private tutoring for both of my sons who are dyslexic. Deb is an incredibly patient and engaging teacher. The kids she works with get the benefit of her excellent teaching as well as her genuine care for each student. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a dyslexic specialist or general tutor.

Deborah Restiano is my grandson's Dyslexia teacher. Deborah is an excellent teacher who shows a tremendous amount of patience. Her instruction is so good he will only do his homework at her house. He says she understands his dyslexic mind. We are very happy with her knowledge, skills with the kids, and the results of our grandson's progress. I give Deborah high scores and recommendations for her teachings. We are grateful.

Deborah played a vital part in our son Jay having confidence in himself. Reading has always been hard for him. Deborah gave Jay back his confidence and taught him how to read and know he could succeed. We are so thankful for her compassion and mercy for her students. She’s the best.

Christy Watts has been our saving grace. She has worked tirelessly with our two boys. They have made extraordinary improvements in both reading and comprehension due to her efforts. Mrs. Watts has shown great commitment and support not only to our boys', but also to the family. As a mother of two dyslexic children, I had a great deal of struggle working with teachers to find a way to properly support the children in and out of the classroom. Mrs. Watts was my sounding board, and helped me navigate, even attending meetings with teachers to properly communicate the needs and learning styles of both boys. She took the time to put me at ease and helped me to be a better mother. I cannot say enough kind words to show my admiration for Mrs. Watts. She is truly a gem!

My child started dyslexia therapy at the start of second grade unable to read and struggling with personal confidence, with in a couple months she was able to start breaking words down into phonics and code the words in order to start reading. Over the past 2 years, we have seen a major growth in confidence and enjoyment in reading. My favorite part is she has never complained about attending a session, even in the summer. We have taken advantage of the summer camps too, meeting and learning from other kids with dyslexia has helped her feel comfortable with personal struggles to accept her learning style. Overall, as a parent, I am very thankful for all the support Ms. Christy provides my family to advocate specific ways for my child to be successful in her education as a whole!

Dyslexia Therapy Associates of South Texas is an awesome learning environment for my son. The Take Flight program they teach has been spectacular. Mrs. Christy is so caring and thoughtful. She has been accommodating with our schedule and my son loves going every week. He has almost completed the first phase of the program and we will definitely continue with the advanced learning program. I really can not say enough good things about Mrs. Christy and this program.
